Kent,

Just off the top of my head, there are several
composers who have written some fine work for bands.
My two cents would be to try works from the following:

James Curnow
John Barnes
Philip Sparke
Mark Camphouse
James Swearingen
Frank Ticheli
Eliot del Borgo (Do Not go Gentle into that Good
Night)
Steven Melillo
Jack Stamp
James Hosay

You may be able to preview via mp3 some of these works
online if you can find a publication site that offers
this.

Good luck,

George Lin
Fairfax, VA
