Actually If I remember correctly from speaking with Jay Chattaway at a
convention ALL of the star trek cast members really play the instruements
that are played by their characters. If any one is interested therer is
a CD floating about by the title "Ole Yellow eyes is Back" that features
Brent Spiner (Data) singing jaz tunes while accompanied by fellow Star
Trek cast members on their various instruments (with a very good 'bone
feature by Jonathan Frakes)
