I can recall a couple of other instances on TV or
movies where the clarinet was in the spotlight.

1. Chow-Yung Fat in director John Woo's "Hard
Boiled". In the opening scene, Chow-Yung is playing
the clarinet in a jazz bar. This is one of the rare
peaceful scenes in the movie as it gets much more
violent. Whoever was playing the jazz piece was good!

2. Star Trek-The Next Generation. In one episode, a
crew member plays the clarinet in his spare time.
