I have an old C* that Matson applied the "Reuben/Bloom" facing to... I've
been using it for about 7 years now and I'd never get rid of it. It really
is fantastic. The only mouthpieces that I've tried that I like more are a
pair of MPs that a friend has that Richard Hawkins made for him. The
"master" was made on a Kaspar blank. He then copied it on one of his blanks
and it was 90% as good. I could play with perfect control loud or soft,
high or low with perfect ease.

When he showed them off in an excerpt class, David Howard (our teacher and
Bass Clarinet of the LA Phil) offered him $1000 for it on the spot. My
friend turned it down.
