Klarinet Archive - Posting 000311.txt from 2002/10

I think that the argument made on this list was the same as that posted by
Geidel at
http://www.ocr.woodwind.org/articles/Geidel/geidel1.html , the summary of
which is

"The question of whether or not the subtitle "Kegelstatt" can appropriately
be applied to Mozart's famous Trio in E-Flat for clarinet, viola, and piano
is a fascinating one, and one that can be answered. The answer is a
definitive 'no.' "

His whole argument goes on for several paragraphs and may be read by those
who would like to pursue the matter further. I was wrong in recalling the
posting here as having suggested a "Kegelstatt Quintet". Geidel's page
made me realize that the argument was for "Kegelstatt Duos."

I'm not taking a stand on the matter one way or another, but simply
recalling an earlier posting.
