It the the viola trio, K. 498, that has borne the name "Kegelstatt"
(meaning skittle or bowling alley) and not some other work. One can
argue that the title is incorrect and should not apply to this work, but
one cannot argue that some other work bore that title. There is serious
scholarly question about the applicability of the title to such a
sophisticated piece, but nobody says that it was not the subtitle.
