Hi Allan;
I read your question about the string... I am from the
San Fran Bay area and play the same kind of clarinet..
the 5 key classical and also the 3-key Baroque Denner Model.
Im not sure where you actually loop under and pull tight..
but in my case the hand has a strong grip on the reed and
the end of the string at the bottom, then I scoot right up
to the top and make the winding starting there and go toward
the bottom and loop it around there! So you are looping under at the top? Interesting that you found that differnt
methods affect different "good" and "bad" notes. Im not quite sure about what that means exactly. Could it be that
the place where you are looping under is so far up the top
end that you are getting into the "lay" curvature area? If
you are stressing the reed down the lay that could have something to do with it.

Anyway I would like to know where are are coming from geographically, and if you are getting into the Kegelstatt
if youve been into any of the notes from the webb that talk
about tempos; i.e. particlarly the 1st movement.

Regards to other pieces with clar, vln, and pf I dont know of
any from classical era right off... I dont suppose the pieces
by Max Bruch fit in. If you have a violin player you could
look at a trio for clar, vln, and pf by Wanhal
