I am a graduate of the Arts Academy (went there with Dave Hattner), and
went to the camp for two summer. I also went to Eastman with the current
teacher, Nathan Williams. I currently have a former student at the
Academy, too.
I think he's too busy to email me right now, so I haven't heard how he's
doing, but he was very excited to go. I think it's a great place, and if
you can go - GO. I don't recommend going before your junior year, though,
because the pressure can be quite intense, and you may be to young to
handle it.

As far as Nathan goes, he is a wonderful clarinetist and human being
(sometimes a rare combination), and though I've never seen him in action,
what I know of him makes me think he is an attentive and excellent
teacher. He has had extensive teaching and performing experience since we
were at Eastman together, and brings a lot to the studio with him to share.

I hope this helps, and I hope you go. It sure costs a lot more than when I
went (only $8000).
