Fiendish!

I refer to book 1 of "The Accomplished Clarinettist" (may not be the same
series!?) and am remembering from when I was forced to play/learn these
studies as a teenager. I hated them. I found them to have little musical
value and therefore they were not a pleasure to play or learn. That said
(and I've nothing much to compare with as my only teacher who was keen on
studies/etudes was the one who exclusively used Jettel) they are good for
technique.

Not scales etc.

Hey gang,

I am currently studying the chromatic exercises from Jettel
Klarinetten-schule Book 2. I was curious as to what was in books 1 and 3.
They are very expensive and my professor has only studied from number 2.
I imagine the first book is much like Baermann scales and etc., but not
sure about 3. I would appreciate it if somebody could tell me what sorts
of studies are in those books (especially 3), so I can decide whether or
not they are worthwhile study material. Thanks!
