I assume that Jacksonville is Jacksonville, Florida. What about
University of Miami (or is it Miami University)?

A friend of my grandsons is a senior in high school. He played clarinet
quite well, but had to have surgery on his hand. His index and middle
fingers now doesn't bend right. He took up trumpet, and has become
fairly proficient on it. (He made first chair in clinic band last year.
Following one surgery last year, he played the trumpet left handed.)

He is interested in music as a major, but his interest is in
composition. He's looking for a school that has a good composition
teacher(s) and as well, music industry (recording studio, management,
etc.). Area, by preference, first of all, the southeast, (the family is
moving somewhere close to Jacksonville after this school term) then
spreading outward from there.

Thanks, in advance, for suggestions. I'll gather them and pass them on
to him.
