Thanks, Tony for your words of encouragement and comments about "Daisy".
When I did hear the Mendelsohn violin concerto on KCME, our classical
music station here in Colorado Springs, it sounded like a very
professional performance, but it probably was a CD. I should call the
station and ask. My sister, Jane Lenoir, is a very talented flutist from
San Francisco, and the whole time I heard the performance on the radio,
I thought "Jane would love to play this". As far as the Finzi goes, the
flutist was particularly good, and I have no idea whether Finzi approved
of that one either. There were several parts where the warmth and
resonance of the low register of the clarinet would have sounded better.
But I was glad that the flutist got to experience the bagatelles. I
would love to know how Finzi felt about it. Is he still alive? ANNIE
