I have two Pomaricos, in addition to hard rubber mouthpieces. I used the
Mitchell Lurie model , (about 1.07) for a long time. A couple of years
ago I bought one a little more open (1.09) with a "mellow" bore. It's
the one I use the most for a "pretty" sound. Among others, Abe Most,
Pete Fountain, Peanuts Hucko, Chuck Hedges, and Bob Draga all play
crystal. Some of them prefer O'Brien of Indianapolis. Bob Wilber swears
by RIA. Pomerico often has a large display at ClarFest, so you can try
them all. Like everything in clarinetistry, it's a personal choice. Just
remember. they're good for ONE drop.
Best wishes,
Al
