A few years ago, I disconnected the ringer on the phone in my bedroom. If
I am awake, I can hear the living room phone. If not, it no longer wakes
me up. I have set an option on my phone that does not allow it to ring
when the sender does not pass caller ID, and that eliminates many of the
sales calls, so I actually get more wrong numbers now than sales
calls. And it could well have been a wrong number rather than a sales call
that woke you for no reason.
