Last night I enjoyed a jazz concert (sax, taragato, and a low flute --
in G?) and I didn't get to bed until 4:30 AM.

A few minutes before 9 AM (which in itself is a violation of the law, I
believe), Time/Life Music woke me up and offered me a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to buy a collection of stale music for only......

There really ought to be a law. My telephone receiver is on my side of
the "private property" line. Probably I will cancel my subscription to
Time Magazine. There are other sources of news and commentary.

A CD that I bought last night features "Tibetan oboe" (which can be
played in jazz style) and is also called a Gya Ling. My music
dictionary doesn't mention it, and a cursory Google search didn't turn
up photogaphs or detailed text explanation that I can access.

Does anybody know what makes a Tibetan oboe different from other oboes?

For those who want an interesting web page about ethnic sheet music and
world musical instruments, try:

Cheers (rather, I mean boo's to Time Life),
Bill
