Send the Clarinet Police Paddy Wagon.
Choice of key may be a matter of taste. I confess to being the ONE, who
after discovering being in the wrong key on a Dixieland solo became very
frustrated until finding the way back, was lauded by a serious trad jazz
"toe-tapper" for such an interesting and beautiful improvisation. A "Thank
you." with a smile was neither easy nor satisfying....nor would be a
harangue.
A trumpet playing friend was in a jam session with a band full of famous
artists. In the middle of a tune the pianist turned to him ans asked, What
tune are we playing?" The audience was well satisfied with the performance.
I admire pursuit of perfection, as long as it doesn't include
self-immolation
