Hello Steve,

I would treat it as if it were a new instrument and only play it for a
short period of time (20 minutes to start) each day.

I would also recommend you take it into the shop to have it looked at. The
damage which I gather is in the lower joint tenon can be repaired. My son
dropped his instrument and it suffered some damage there.
