I shouldn't worry about making it sound 'fresh'. That idea is in your
head, not in the music.

The music just wants to be itself. If you ask it nicely how it wants to
be, then it'll probably answer you.

A useful idea to start with might be to ask: if it were an opera, how
would it want to be?
