William,

What I ment was I will get a clarinet either way, but I plan to join the
army band at some point or another for college money. I was just wondering
if I should go ahead and join in december, or wait until I am a senior. If I
wait until I am a senior, I won't go to basic training between my junior and
senior years and I can go to music camp. This is a hard decision because I
think either would help me grow as a musician. So I just sit here and think
"Play in army band, or go to camp?" I really would like to go back to camp
and this summer is the last time I can go, and then I have the army band
when I get back.

After thinking about it, I'm thinking it is better to join when I am a
senior because I will get to go to camp, and I will only have to wait an
extra half year over a lifetime.

I'm still nowhere near sure of this though.
