If anyone ever doubted the superb blending of clarinet and soprano voice,
just try the Andrew Lloyd Webber "Pie Jesu" with clarinet playing the
harmonic boy soprano part against Sarah Brightman's solo soprano part. I've
had the privilege of playing it with both soprano and mezzo with both piano
and organ accompaniment and it is one of the most moving experiences I've
ever had as a clarinetist. It's also wonderful for those looking for music
for a Sunday morning church service.
