Delo Joio's Variants on a Mideval Tune has a nice alto clarinet solo. But
yes, there is not a lot of band literature that has good alto clarinet parts.
I don't get instruments from e-bay, I bid on a Buffet alto clarinet a few
months ago and I got this particular instrument at a really great price (I
actually did not think I would get it at the price I bid). It is an old one,
probably 60's vintage, but it does have a left hand Ab/Eb, is in great shape,
and it is a really good playing instrument. I am still waiting for all those
alto clainet gigs in the Houston area.
