The key words in your message are "recently" and "becoming a problem".

You almost certainly need some maintenance --- pads, corks, key
adjustments, removal of accumulated 'gunk', etc.

It would be a different story if you had written "I've never been able
to play above clarion G". Apparently you used to be able to do so, and
now you can't. So something about your instrument is leaking or not
closing properly.
