Not being a scholar of historical instruments, I certainly can assess how
this collection compares with others around the world, but there's a really
large and what seems to be diverse collection of instruments in (of all
places) Vermillion South Dakota at the U. of S. Dakota's "Shrine to Music
Museum." If the 1833 Graves boxwood clarinet in C doesn't get you, maybe one
of Bill Clinton's saxophones might.
