Find yourself a copy of the book "The Look of Music". I'm sorry I
can't offer more details. I believe it was a handbook for an
exhibition similar to the one in Paris you describe. If you can find
it in any of the Vancouver libraries, it has an excellent collection
of photos of old instruments with explanitory paragraphs.
