There's also another approach. Rotate your mouthpiece slightly away from
the centered "line up the reed and register key" norm, until you find a
position that is more stable for your upper teeth. I've played rotated
clockwise from center about 10 degrees (approx) for years, very
successfully. I also use a mpc patch, but not a particularly thick one.
