Another technique to break out of a frustrating "rut" (when a passage
simply doesn't work) is:

First, play the _final_ note of the passage by itself.

Then practice the final two notes together (next-to-final note followed
by final note).

Then practice the final three notes together....

...and so forth, until you are finally add the passage's first note and
you are playing the entire passage.

Building the passage by starting at the end (instead of at the
beginning) sometimes breaks whatever mental or physical pattern was
blocking you.

Nevertheless, your original message focused on a "long" note, and it
mentioned crescendos. The image that I receive (not knowing the
composition) is that the fingering itself isn't so difficult. Rather
it's that your muscles get 'locked up' while you hold a longer note,
perhaps at the end of a crescendo which causes you to unconsciously
clamp down harder.
