Dear Richard,

I can't buy into you response for the following reason;
every movement of a finger will change the sound. As your finger approachs a tone hole the tuning will change until it is fully depressed. But all of this happens so quickly that it is not noticeable unless you are trying to gliss by moving ones fingers slowly.

For the same reason of using the same hand, where possible, I also make sure I use my left hand e flat/b flat where technically possible. EG Bflat major.
