I remember the first violinist at ClarFest in Oklahoma two years ago. I was
really distracted by her excessive movements. It seemed like (at least to me
and a few others I talked to) that she was almost trying to steal the
limelight from John Manasse and Larry Combs when they played the Brahms and
Webers quintets. At least that is the impression I got even if it may not be
accurate. I do feel that she is a very good musician, but I I think that
while some movement is fine, it becomes a distraction when done to the
excess.
