You must not be a mover or shaker:
I was at that same performance of the Brahms Quintet, I love the sound that
Leister gets from his instrument. A sound that is to me what Brahms might
have intended when he penned the original. The movement of players on
stage, and I was near enough to the front of the auditorium to have noticed
any distractions, did not intrude into my enjoyment of the work. If this is
Leisters' stage style and presence, I certainly think it was in keeping with
the tone of the work he was presenting to the audience.
The one performance that did bother me was Cohens' presentation of the
Mozart Quintet. The number of times he lifted his eyebrows to the Quartet
and in my opinion the excessive ornamentation, especially in the allegretto
con variazion.
