Well, what I do is record to a full sized MD deck (not the portable ones),
and feed from my stereo to my Line In on my iMic (which plugs into one of my
USB ports). Then I just record into a program like Sound Studio or one of
the nicer audio programs like Peak or something. This method is a bit time
consuming, but i'ma patient guy.

Or you could always just record straight to your hard drive and burn as AIFF
files.

The (sony) MD has no optical line out (it has optical in). Connection to
PC goes by USB and then the software of Sony. It seems not possible to
get the MD format (ATRAC) converted to MP2/WAV for burning to CDR(W).
Yes, it is really true I believe. Here is a link to a pageon internet
with a proposal to Sony for making it possible to have life recordings
converted " openly" to/in WAV/MP3 format:

So, so far no good solution for my needed (digital) recording
equipment...

Hope to get more response and suggestions!

Thanx so far!!
