I flew to Edinburgh, Scotland from LA on two weeks after Sept 11 and brought my
clarinet with me (I carried it on the plane and didn't check it in). When I
went through security I sent it through the x-ray machine fully expecting the
security people to want to inspect it, and they didn't. Other people may have
had different experiences in traveling with their clarinets, but mine
experience was very easy.
