Hi Chris,
You probably have enough advise at this point,
but here are some thoughts...

Like Jack, I too have had nothing but problems
with the new Buffet swabs, my old ones used to be fine.

Frank's idea sounds great, but what is the name
of the little tool he suggested?

The oboist in our orchestra uses a long silk swab
and sews another pull string at the opposite end so
you can pull the swab back if you feel it getting tight.
I haven't tried this but it looks like a great idea.

Lastly, have a professional get it out if it's
really stuck. Best of luck to you!
