Subj: [kl] El Saxco Silent Bag

Got my Woodwind & Brasswind Summer 2002 Clarinet and Saxophone catalog. On
p. 69, they list the El Saxco Silent Bag, lined with foam rubber and claimed
to be a sax gig bag and also a mute that reduces the volume by 70%. The
photo shows a guy playing what appears to be a tenor, with an unlikely left
hand position with his fingers only halfway through a slit in the side of the
bag.

Has anyone tried one of these for sax? The soprano sax size might work for
clarinet, if the mouthpiece and most of the barrel projected out the top.
Anyone tried it with clarinet? It could make practicing possible at any
hour, even with thin walls and light-sleeping spouses.

Best regards.

Ken Shaw
