Hello. I've been doubling for 15 years now. I use Vandoren V-12 #4's on my
clarinet with a Greg Smith # 1 mouthpiece. On my alto I use a Selmer C* with
Vandoren 2 1/2 reeds. I find I have more flexibility with the softer reed on
the saxophone, but it hasn't changed my clarinet reed strength. What I have
noticed is that my embouchure is different for the each instrument. I also
use softer reeds on bass clarinet.
