For anyone in the Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley) area, the Los Angeles
Pierce Symphonic Winds will be playing this Sunday 5:30 PM at Warner Center
Park (Topanga Canyon Boulevard just north of the 101)as part of the Valley
Cultural Center Summer Music Series. Sopranos Jessica Rivera of the Los
Angeles Opera, Maura Crawley and Elaine De Mattos will join the band in
various numbers including America the Beautiful (arr. Dragon), Sound of
Music, Battle Hymn of the Republic, Camelot and Sinatra Medley. Stephen
Piazza, director of the Winds, will be playing the Artie Shaw Clarinet
Concerto (sounds great). Other numbers include Liberty Bell March (Sousa),
Armed Services Medley, We are Coming (Sousa), Three Elizabeths (Mvmt. 3)and
Stars and Stripes. Admission is free. Money back guarantee if not
