Yeah, I think the documentary is probably way off...certainly Hendrix,
Clapton, Jeff Beck, Deep Purple, the Beatles, and many, many others in
the early and mid-60's predated the Carpenters with guitar solos, not to
mention all of the guitarists in the 50's (of which I know the names of
a few but really have not listened to...it's on my list).
