Hi Bill,

I've read your email. Thanks for the information.
I did want to point out, though, that my first
question posted to the list was "... it's nasty
dirty!...What is the proper way to clean a wooden
clarinet? Inside and out?". I have not played it
because it is disgusting! Once I've cleaned it
(which I want to do properly) I would really
prefer not to put it in my mouth. I can't afford
a professional cleaning on an instrument I may not
purchase.

How does one clean the gunk out (especially out of
the mouthpiece) that has been in there, dried, for
several years? And how do I sanitize the
mouthpiece without damaging it?

Thanks for any information!
