There is an old Joni Mitchell tune called "For Free", which involved the
comparison of a highly paid popular musician with a street corner clarinet
player. I have heard a relatively recent cover of this tune with Judy
Collins and (none other than) Richard Stoltzman. I don't know if it
qualifies as "popular".

As for the new question;

Why is it with rock and pop music... etc... The saxophone seems to be
the woodwind of choice? Does anyone know of a popular rock/pop etc song
that contains a clarinet in it?
