It was pop for the time it was written. Keep in mind that many (most) of
us here are much older than you, and could very well have been around when
most classic rock was pop. Pop defines any particular music that is
largely POPular upon it's release...and if it survives the trends and
passages of time, then it goes on to be called classic rock.

Not everyone here will have the same perspective as you - we've all had
different experiences that alter how we see certain things concerning
music. Some of us have been around for a very long time, giving us a very
wisened and thought out perspective. And yet still, there are some of us
who are still quite young (you and I would fall into this category), and
our perspective is still quite limited by lack of experience.

I would reccommend that instead of immediately assuming the worst of what
someone has to say here, always give them a chance to reveal why, and
where they come from, so that you might have a better understanding. You
don't have to accept what they say, but it earns you no great respect to
immediately shoot down what someone else has to say, simply because you
hold an opposite dogma.

We're all here for one reason - TO LEARN FROM EACH OTHER through sharing
our joys and experiences from playing clarinet. Believe me, Kimber, you
won't learn very much by stepping on other people's experiences and
perspectives. If you can't accept what someone has to say, then simply
put it aside, and look at it again in a few years. You'd be surprised
what one or two years can do the way you look at things.

Keep posting, but don't let your passion get the better of you. ^_-
