Think it [CLR] would remove plating?

I have a bottle sitting beside me. The label says that chrome plating
is OK, but NOT "metallic glazed" surfaces (I don't know what "metallic
glazed" means, perhaps anodized?) and not aluminum surfaces.

Labels have to be triple conservative, of course; but the label calls
CLR "corrosive" and tells you not to leave it on any surface for more
than 2-3 minutes.

I presume the laughter is because you'd never pour CLR (or any other
solvent or cleaner) into your eyes on purpose?

But some people rub their eyes unconsciously. Or they wipe sweat from
their forehead without thinking about what they may leave behind on
their forehead, and the next drop of sweat rolls off their forehead and
carries some of the bad stuff into their eye. This is a common problem
with children and sun block, or mosquito repellent. Even as an adult,
I've done it a couple of times to myself.

Cheers,
Bill
