This won't help with getting the screws OUT but will
help AFTER you get the screws out and the posts off.

I have had a lot of good luck with CLR, which is an
enzyme cleaner for calcium, lime, and rust (so the
name abbreviates.) You could soak the parts in this
solution (get the concentrated bottle WITHOUT the
sprayer, and pour some in a bowl, then soak the
parts.)

This saves me from scrubbing things that are rusty. It
doesn't hurt the metal either.

I am not sure whether you could actually get a very
thin pan with the CLR in it, and prop the instrument
up so that only the post would be in the solution.
That might help getting the screw out, by disolving
the rust inside the post. It is really good for the
parts after the dis-assembling.
