Bolero was just on the simulcast of the NY Phil and
Kurt Masur's final concert with them. I forgot how
much I dislike Bolero.

They featured the percussionist for this piece, but I
would think that part must be the most mundane of all
percussion parts for orchestra. It is almost EXACTLY
the same throughout the piece for 15 minutes!

I did get slightly interested to see individual
players playing, but that was about it. I thought the
rendition of "Happy Birthday" at the end for Maestro
Masur was more interesting musically...LOL!

Midsummer Night's dream and Sheherezade were both
nicely done. I missed Candide at the beginning of the
telecast. :-(
