When I was in community band, we rehearsed indoors. At least we had an
opportunity to practice in a more music-friendly environment before heading
for the plazas. I too found it a bit unnerving doing outdoor concerts at
first because it was so hard to judge balance and intonation. You'll get
used to it, but it is annoying at first. Wish I had more to offer.
