I'm going to get all four of my wisdom teeth (one's impacted and the
others aren't going to come in right) pulled in August a couple of weeks

I lost all 4 of my wisdom teeth when I was a child. I play clarinet
today.

[ Heh! I wish I could blame some of my fingering problems on my wisdom
teeth, but I doubt anyone would believe me. ]

If you left the wisdom teeth in place, I bet they _would_ ruin your
ability to play in a few months or years!

Also, I had mouth surgery after I began playing clarinet (a few years
ago). I asked the dentist about effects to my embouchure, and he said
"Don't worry." I was unable to detect any difference in my tone after
the healing was complete.

So unless there's something unusual about your case, I wouldn't worry
about the musical part of it. Obviously you shouldn't start playing
again until the dentist tells you that the healing is complete and gives
you his explicit "OK". My dentist made me wait 4 weeks, but of course
each case is different

Cheers,
Bill
