I find I have the same problem with bass clarinet, perhaps because of the
neck strap and the neck in my field of view like a tenor. Conversely, I
seldom mess up by using clarinet fingerings on sax UNLESS I am playing
soprano. I think it is because I hold it in front like a clarinet, rather
than to the side as I hold other sizes of sax. I would like to get an
Albert system clarinet sometime, but I would anticipate many fingering
problems!
