Joe Fasel recommended Gonzales reeds. I would add that Zonda, Gonzales, and Mozart reeds are all made from Argentinian cane. (I think they're all made by the same company.)

I have found the quality of this cane to be wonderful, and at least an equal match to what I have been seeing in the Vandorens.

I know that David Niethamer uses cane from the same source, which he gets in tubes, to make his hand made reeds.

Anyway, Paula, if due to high inflation, Vandoren or other imported reeds are too expensive, you would have some excellent choices made in your own country.
