It's late on Monday evening (11 PM EDT) and I've been up since 6 AM
Stockholm time (6 hours ahead of EDT), but I am back from the east with
news for the west. I will post the rest of the story tomorrow, but suffice
it to
say - last week's Fest was not the best. I think 9/11 cast a pall that was
not to be overcome. Credit must be given to Stefan Harg and Kjell-Inge
Stevensson for making the best of a bad situation. Orchids to all the
performers and exhibitors who had the guts to stick it out and make the
trip. Onions to the many who backed out and left Stefan and Kjell-Inge
holding the bag. And a good hard smack on the wrist to the ICA for not
stepping up to the plate to help the Stockholm crew make a better go of the
show. I think the ICA owes its members an honest explanation of the much
less than usual quality of the conference..... and they know exactly what I
mean. I was not pleased that I spent so much money and got very little for it.

The 3-day stopover in Iceland prior to Stockholm was wonderful though. It
is a breath-taking gem and if you ever have the opportunity to visit, I
whole-hearted endorse taking a good look at how life should be lived. Now
that I have teased you into wondering what happened, I'll sign off for the
night and leave you hanging (just like the TV newscasters). Maybe before I
get to post again some of the other poor suckers who travelled thousands of
miles and spent a lot of money for very little bang will post before I can
get back on-line.
