Good morning all,

ABC News' Nightline, hosted by Ted Koppel, will be spotlighting "The
President's Own" United States Marine Band throughout the entire broadcast
on Thursday, July 4 at 11:35 p.m. The newscast will explore the Marine Band
past and present, with a focus on patriotic sentiments during a
post-September 11 Independence Day season.

Using footage of the band at a rehearsal, June 28's Friday Evening Parade,
and June 30's summer concert, the 30 minute news show will include selected
interviews with Assistant Director and Executive Officer Major Michael
Colburn; MGySgts Mike Ressler and John Troxel; MSgt Randy Riffle (clarinet);
GySgt
Susan Rider; and SSgts Vicki Gotcher (clarinet), Janis Potter-Paulson, Kevin
Bennear,
Ivy Goodlett, Frank Crawford, and Chris Tiedeman.
