1) Our most recently signed composer is both a classical singer and a
bodybuilder -- 28 years old, 56" chest, bass-baritone, studying for a
second time with Corigliano at Aspen this summer (and has a girlfriend
-- sorry ladies!!!). He's written a killer clarinet/piano piece called
"In The Trenches" which is in the final stages of preparation for
publication. (I'll let everyone know when it is ready.)

2) When I was in high school, the guys in the wrestling team sang in the
chorus; they were AAA State Wrestling Champs for 4 consecutive years.
(Coach "strongly encouraged" chorus -- as in "do this.") *Nobody*
hassled them about chorus being sissy. (I wrestled for one year as a
second-stringer in one of the lighter weight classes -- 9th grade.)

3) A fabulous local pianist (female) was a double-major at Oberlin:
piano and mathematics. She is an active soccer player (as is her
husband). First thing I ever heard her play (years ago) was the piano
part to the Hindemith trumpet sonata; difficult, and she played it as if
there was "nothing to it."

The thing is: you can be athletic, intelligent, and expressive all at
once. One doesn't rule out the other -- though that *will* keep you
very busy.
