Karen--

The topic of ligatures comes up often on this list. In addition to direct
responses, might I suggest that you also check the clarinet archives for
past postings. You will find of wealth of information.

In direct response, I suggest Rovner ligatures. There are several models,
and the final selection would be based on your preferences, but they are all
excellent, and last many years.

Subject: [kl] New Ligature

Hello All,

I have a question. I think I may need a new ligature soon. I have been
using the Bonade ligature for quite some time now. First I used the
reversed ligature (screws in front of mouthpiece), then I began using
the normal Bonade ligature. I am thinking about trying the Optima
ligature with the 3 plate inserts by Vandoren. I know this depends on
the mouthpiece - I have man made mouthpiece by Ignatius Genusa.

Has anyone ever tried this ligature? If so, what are you opinions of
it? Are there any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Karona Poindexter
