I think I may need a new ligature soon.

It makes a difference whether you want to try something different for
the sake of experimenting, or is your Bonade damaged and you must buy a
new ligature regardless?

If your goal is to experiment, the major distinction between ligatures
is metal vs. fabric. I started with metal, switched to fabric, and
ultimately returned to metal --- based on the sound.

But I didn't end up with a fancy ribbed ligature or interchangeable
plates. My fabric ligature had interchangeable plates, but I could
never convince myself that switching them accomplished anything. My
current ligature is a simple metal band with two screws.

Each to her or his own of course.

Cheers,
Bill
